NABRP is developing the first board certification in reproductive psychiatry, establishing national standards for clinical expertise, safety, and quality of care. This certification will not only recognize individual clinicians; it will define standardized competencies that inform future training, influence expectations in broader psychiatric education, and identify experts equipped to support population-level mental health initiatives and policy-informed programming.
Importantly, a formal certification designation will also allow policymakers and health systems to track the availability of reproductive psychiatry expertise, creating visibility where none currently exists and supporting accountability and equitable resource allocation.
NABRP is seeking startup funding to support exam development, governance infrastructure, and the launch of its initial certification pathway. Once established, the Board is designed to be financially self-sustaining through certification and maintenance fees.
Early donors have a rare opportunity to catalyze durable structural change, helping to build a national standard that strengthens safety, quality, equity, and accountability in reproductive mental health care for decades to come.
